Promise me a River; the novel narrated through Emily Heart is a journey of family, friendship, loss and love tied together in a summer time bow.

Eighteen year old Emily heart knows this is the last summer she would spend with her family and friends before she’s enrolled in a college across the world from them.

Determined to make the best out of her situation, she opens up to the wild and empty promises that accompany the season, she’s willing to give her heart to whoever requests and all she wants in return is to simply remember when she’s gone, the last summer with them.

But with her friends moving back from the United Kingdom with a whole new personality and accent, an airplane crash and a homophobic father who’s determined to push her brother off the rail, Emily isn’t too sure she wants to remember the vivid details of the summer but merely the promises they’d made along the way.
